DEFI the Norm (DEFI) is an art collective that was established in 2008 by Andrea Sper and Luis Aguilera in Miami, Florida. The artists work in a variety of mediums including photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, typography, installations and more. Through artistic expression, DEFI challenges artists and viewers alike to question common practices such as the law, traditions, religion, and cultures. If there is something you do not agree with, DEFI wants you to question everything.
DEFI does not just pose against commonality in society, but also through the different ways to use materials, technology, subject and the actual pieces themselves. Software that is designed for one thing can be turned into something else, for example, a drone camera can be used to showcase the beauty of nature or our surroundings.
DEFI pieces and characters are recognized by their confidence, carelessness and boldness. No piece of work that is part of DEF is afraid to be themselves. Being defiant in this context, is to be confident. Being confident is being different. Being different gives a voice to artists and work to take a stand and be themselves.
DEFI is an art collective for those who want to jump in and out of projects with no strings attached.
DEFI is Dope ass designs, Vicious vectors, Luxurious lines, No strings attached.
